Overview

CIETAC is the leading international commercial arbitration institution in China, with its headquarters in Beijing. It was originally established in April 1956 within the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Its current Panel of Arbitrators, selected and appointed from among Chinese and foreigners with special knowledge and practical experience in trade and economics, science and technology, law and other fields, contains 518 arbitrators who come from more than 30 countries and regions around the world. The foreign arbitrators and the arbitrators from the Hong Kong SAR, the Macau SAR and Taiwan amount to 174. Up to now, CIETAC has concluded over 10,000 cases and become one of the well-known international arbitration institutions in the world.

CIETAC is one of two, the other being HKIAC, domain name dispute resolution providers for .cn ccTLD.
